Dahlias
There are many many flowers that we grow in this big wide world of ours. Some we grow for drying, some for seed, some we grow for longevity and others we grow purely for the mesmerising qualities and the endorphins they pump through our bodies.
Step forward the Dahlia.
When the landscape begins to wain and the bounty is depleting there is so much more to look forward too. A selfless flower that needs just a little care and attention to begin it’s journey, will reward you by the basket in autumn. A kaleidoscope of colour that ranges from muted tones to wild bright colours. Each as hypnotic in it’s own entirety.
The profusion…
Of colour will ensure you stand still, stare and absorb the view. Snip them, match them, admire them and simply take them home to display on the kitchen table. Walk by them, side eye them, smile at them. You grew them, be proud.
One of my favourites to dry for the winter months to adorn wreaths and arrange with fresh foliage for the big day table.
Mark my words….
Once you buy that tuber, plant, nurture, pick. You’ll be hooked. The bounty awaits you.
